Course Overview

This course is accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) and recognised by the National Registry of Coaches (NROC) under Sport Singapore. It is designed for individuals who hold a current and valid Standard First Aid certificate and wish to renew their certification before expiry. The refresher programme covers all core topics required for standard first aid proficiency in a condensed format, reinforcing critical knowledge and practical skills for experienced first aiders. The course will prepare participants to respond to life threatening emergencies and equip participants with life saving skills.

The programme refreshes participants on the duties and responsibilities of a first aider, checking and packing contents of a first aid box, management of casualties with airway obstruction, applying first aid to injured victims in school or public settings, management of medical emergencies, management of common adult illnesses, performing resuscitation for victims, and management of casualties with trauma injuries. Participants will also undergo reassessment in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), with practical competency evaluation to ensure continued readiness.

Standard First Aid, CPR and AED courses including refresher courses are not awarded Continuing Coach Education (CCE) hours as these are considered a standard requirement for coaches.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a renewed Standard First Aid with CPR + AED certificate accredited by SRFAC, valid for two years from the date of completion.
