Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
1.1 First Aid and Healthcare Academy (UEN: 201500607E) ("the Academy", "we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all individuals who interact with us, including learners, prospective learners, website visitors, corporate clients and their employees, and any other persons who provide their personal data to us in the course of our business operations.
1.2 This Privacy Policy sets out the manner in which the Academy collects, uses, discloses, stores, protects and otherwise processes personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (No. 26 of 2012) of Singapore ("PDPA") and any subsidiary legislation, regulations, guidelines and codes of practice issued thereunder.
1.3 By accessing our website, submitting your personal data to us, enrolling in any of our courses, or otherwise engaging with our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, please refrain from providing your personal data to us.

2. Personal Data We Collect
2.1 The Academy may collect the following categories of personal data, depending on the nature of your interaction with us:
(a) personal particulars, including full name, NRIC or FIN number (or the last four characters thereof), date of birth, nationality, gender and passport details where applicable;
(b) contact information, including residential address, email address, telephone number and emergency contact details;
(c) employment information, including employer name, job title, department and business contact details, where course registration is sponsored by an employer;
(d) educational qualifications and certification records, including prior first aid or life support certifications, training history and assessment results;
(e) financial and payment information, including bank account details, payment records, invoice details and SkillsFuture Credit or other government funding claim information;
(f) health and medical information, including declarations of pre-existing medical conditions, pregnancy status or any physical limitations that may affect participation in training, where voluntarily disclosed by the individual;
(g) photographic images and identification photographs for the purposes of certification and identity verification;
(h) CCTV footage and images captured on the Academy's premises;
(i) website usage data, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and cookies data, where applicable; and
(j) any other personal data that you may voluntarily provide to us in the course of your dealings with the Academy.

3. Purposes for Collection, Use and Disclosure
3.1 The Academy collects, uses and discloses your personal data for the following purposes:
(a) processing and administering course registrations, enrolments, scheduling and attendance records;
(b) conducting assessments, issuing certifications and maintaining records of training outcomes;
(c) processing course fee payments, invoicing, refunds and financial reconciliation;
(d) submitting funding applications and claims to government agencies including SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), Workforce Singapore (WSG) and Enterprise Singapore (ESG), and complying with the reporting and audit requirements of such agencies;
(e) submitting certification and accreditation records to relevant regulatory and accrediting bodies including the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC);
(f) communicating with you in relation to your course registration, schedules, assessment results, certification renewals, course updates and any changes to our terms, policies or services;
(g) responding to your enquiries, feedback, complaints or requests;
(h) marketing and promoting our courses, services and events, subject to your consent where required under the PDPA;
(i) ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of all persons on our premises, including through the operation of CCTV surveillance systems;
(j) conducting internal audits, quality assurance reviews and compliance assessments;
(k) complying with applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines, directives and orders issued by any governmental, regulatory or statutory authority; and
(l) any other purpose that is reasonably related to the above or to which you have provided your consent.

4. Disclosure of Personal Data
4.1 The Academy may disclose your personal data to the following categories of third parties for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy:
(a) government agencies and statutory bodies, including SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), Workforce Singapore (WSG), Enterprise Singapore (ESG), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and the Central Provident Fund Board (CPFB), for the purposes of funding applications, claims, audits and regulatory compliance;
(b) accrediting and regulatory bodies, including the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) and the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC), for the purposes of course accreditation, certification and quality assurance;
(c) your employer or sponsoring organisation, where your course enrolment is company-sponsored, for the purposes of registration, attendance records, assessment outcomes, certification status and funding claims;
(d) third-party service providers engaged by the Academy, including payment processors, IT service providers, cloud storage providers and communication platforms, to the extent necessary for them to perform their services on our behalf;
(e) professional advisors, including legal counsel, auditors and accountants, where necessary for the conduct of the Academy's business; and
(f) any other party to whom disclosure is required or permitted by law, or to whom you have provided your consent.
4.2 The Academy shall not sell, rent, trade or otherwise make available your personal data to any third party for their independent marketing purposes without your express consent.

5. Marketing Communications
5.1 The Academy may from time to time send you marketing communications relating to our courses, services, promotions and events via email, SMS, messaging platforms or other electronic means.
5.2 You may at any time opt out of receiving marketing communications by writing to us at course@1st.sg or by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in any marketing communication you receive from us. We will process your opt-out request within a reasonable time.
5.3 Please note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may continue to send you non-marketing communications relating to your course registration, enrolment, assessment, certification or any other transactional or administrative matter.

6. Accuracy of Personal Data
6.1 The Academy endeavours to ensure that all personal data in our possession is accurate, complete and up to date. We rely on you to inform us of any changes to your personal data in a timely manner.
6.2 If you become aware that any personal data we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please contact us at course@1st.sg so that we may take reasonable steps to correct it.

7. Protection and Retention of Personal Data
7.1 The Academy implements reasonable security arrangements to protect personal data in our possession or control against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks. These measures include physical, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature and sensitivity of the personal data concerned.
7.2 Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While the Academy takes commercially reasonable steps to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
7.3 The Academy retains personal data only for so long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable law. When personal data is no longer required, the Academy will take reasonable steps to destroy or anonymise the data in accordance with the PDPA.
7.4 Notwithstanding the above, the Academy may be required to retain certain records, including certification records, assessment results, attendance records and funding-related documents, for the minimum periods prescribed by the relevant government agencies, accrediting bodies or applicable legislation. Such records will be retained for the duration required and thereafter securely disposed of.

8. Cookies and Website Data
8.1 The Academy's website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience, analyse website traffic and usage patterns, and improve the functionality of our website.
8.2 A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Cookies may be session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (retained on your device for a specified period).
8.3 You may configure your browser settings to reject or delete cookies at any time. However, please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features on our website.

9. Transfer of Personal Data Outside Singapore
9.1 The Academy may, in the course of its operations, transfer your personal data to recipients located outside Singapore, including cloud storage providers and third-party service providers operating in other jurisdictions.
9.2 Where such transfers are made, the Academy will take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipients of your personal data are bound by legally enforceable obligations to provide a standard of protection that is at least comparable to the protection afforded under the PDPA.

10. Access and Correction
10.1 You may at any time request access to or correction of your personal data held by the Academy, in accordance with the PDPA.
10.2 To submit an access or correction request, please write to us at course@1st.sg. We may require you to verify your identity before processing your request.
10.3 The Academy will respond to your request within a reasonable time. Where access to or correction of personal data is granted, a reasonable fee may be charged to cover the costs of processing your request, in accordance with the PDPA.
10.4 The Academy reserves the right to decline access or correction requests in the circumstances permitted under the PDPA, including where the request is frivolous or vexatious, where compliance would threaten the safety or physical or mental health of another individual, or where compliance would reveal confidential commercial information.

11. Withdrawal of Consent
11.1 You may at any time withdraw your consent for the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data for any or all of the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, by writing to us at course@1st.sg.
11.2 Upon receipt of your withdrawal of consent, the Academy will inform you of the likely consequences of such withdrawal, which may include the inability to process your course registration, certification or funding applications.
11.3 Please note that the withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any collection, use or disclosure of personal data carried out prior to such withdrawal, and the Academy may continue to process your personal data where permitted or required under the PDPA or any other applicable law.

12. Data Breach Notification
12.1 In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in significant harm to affected individuals or is of a significant scale, the Academy will notify the Personal Data Protection Commission ("PDPC") and the affected individuals as soon as practicable, in accordance with the PDPA and any applicable guidelines issued by the PDPC.

13. Amendments to this Privacy Policy
13.1 The Academy reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any amendments will be published on this website and will take effect immediately upon publication.
13.2 Your continued access to our website or use of our services following the publication of any amendment shall constitute your acceptance of the amended Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

14.1 This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
